Winkies Castle Folk Museum

Open 11am to 4.30pm Thursday, Saturday & Sunday & bank holiday Mondays from Easter to end of Sept. Admission: adults £1.50, children (5-16) 75p, under-5s free. Family £4. This is a re-dressed period museum detailing history and heritage of Yorkshire fishing village Marske-by-the-Sea. It was founded by a local cobbler in the 1970s and displays many hand-crafted items that have passed through the palms of the village locals. The building itself is worth a visit, a ‘half cruck’ townhouse from the 16th century.
