New to the Middlesbrough Collection this year are works by key established British artists alongside works by young British and international artists: 2017 Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid, Chila Kumari Burman, Keith Piper, Stephen Willats, Núria Güell, Daniela Ortiz, Matterlurgy and Katie Schwab. They illustrate the new development policy for the Middlesbrough Collection, which is focussed on art produced by artists from diverse backgrounds, which addresses issues of global concern relevant to the people of Middlesbrough and the Tees Valley.
