This debut from Laura Misch does exactly what its title suggests, allowing us to sample the natural world through an enchanting sonic journey that captures London’s wild edgelands. Light, airy and ethereal, Laura’s gentle vocals combine with wind-inspired saxophone and organic electronic products to create an intimate soundscape that feels like a reverie. In ‘Sample the Sky’, Misch has not just created music, but an entire atmosphere, and the result is a relaxing listen that is simultaneously stimulating, with lots of beautiful textures to explore. Very impressive for a debut. LT
