The Misty’s describe themselves as “the soundtrack to a longed for kiss” - indeed, their song ‘Bite Marks’ was the soundtrack of Killing Eve’s first kissing scene - which intrigued me to listen to this new release of theirs. They have created a very distinct sound: it’s dark, moody and they don’t stray from their slow tempos, with lots of synth and drum machine percussion. The vocals are unique, breathy and close-miked, creating  an intimate feel that runs throughout the album. ‘Detached Engagement’ is a very laid back listen, but there are lots of interesting things going on to keep your ears occupied.
