Shipley Art Gallery

Tues-Fri 10am-4pm; Sat 10am-5pm. Free The Shipley is the north-east’s leading gallery of design and contemporary craft. The stunning Designs for Life gallery showcases over 300 objects from the collections. The Shipley also houses an outstanding painting collection including William Irving’s The Blaydon Races. A varied programme of temporary exhibitions are held each year including many partner exhibitions with large National Museums and Galleries such as the V&A in London.
