Zetland Lifeboat Museum

Open daily except Mon, 12pm-4pm. Free. The museum houses the world’s oldest surviving lifeboat, the Zetland, which has spent its retirement in this lifeboat museum in Redcar. The boat was built in 1802 and was responsible for saving over 500 lives. Museum includes other attractions, such as a replica fisherman’s cottage, gallery, videos and stacks of local maritime history.
