Katy J Pearson & Friends Presents Songs From The Wicker Man
Cult horror film ‘The Wicker Man’ celebrates its 50th anniversary this month, and one of the most striking elements of the film is its folky soundtrack, so as both a film and music buff I was very excited for this one. Katy J Pearson does a fantastic job of capturing the eerie yet beautiful essence of the originals, reimagining them for a modern listener while doing the source material justice (unlike Nicolas Cage in the 2006 remake of the film). Pearson’s voice was made to cover the iconic ‘Willow’s Song’, but the fantastically embellished version of ‘Fire Leap’, featuring Wet Leg, Drug Store Romeos and Sarah Meth takes the cake for me. LT
