The Wombats have experimented with genre a fair bit over the years, but this EP feels very much like a return to their indie rock roots, with just the right amount of the electronic sound they’ve developed over the years, along with catchy guitar riffs, rhythmic drums and, of course, witty lyrics delivered in Matthew Murphy’s trademark intonations. None of the tracks are particularly groundbreaking, but as a whole the release is everything we’ve grown to love about The Wombats. LT
