The debut album from this local fella should excite anyone who enjoys rock of a classic nature. There are all sorts of echoes to be found within these grooves, from Steely Dan to Mark Knopfler to Fleetwood Mac, with the emphasis being on memorable tunes, hummable riffs and big choruses. And with ‘Not Disappointed (a tribute to Field Music)’ he pays homage to Sunderland’s finest by repurposing the bassline from one of their finest tracks, ‘Disappointed’. A sterling effort. GM
