She is ferociously confident, unapologetically sexual, and she stomps all over those who have an issue with a black woman being these things (“I guess my skin not light enough, my dialect not white enough (..) But fuck it ‘cause I’m black”) However, tracks such as ‘Anxiety’ and ‘Flip Flop’ remind us that even the woman who invented “hot girl shit” struggles to be strong sometimes. LT
