For a band whose first release was only back in 2019, Kamikaze Nurse make quite the impact with this sophomore album. Fiery in some places, like title track ‘Stimuloso’, yet breezy in others, such as gentle, poetic closer ‘ubobo’, Kamikaze Nurse coordinate their use of melody and dissonance with the emotion communicated by lyrics that span from an angsty “I hate you!” to a meditative “Life is a dream and the meaning is only realised as you awake into nothing.” The band’s combination of rebellious rock and roll with evocative narrative creates an intriguing spectrum.
