This young Liverpool bunch have been widely tipped and this, their debut album, does much to back up such promise. They take the garage rock template and drag it downtown to a place where The Stooges, The Doors and Sticky Fingers era Stones are smashed into one band, a band now fronted by a woman (say “Hi” to Lia Metcalfe). The Mysterines are playing Stockton Calling in April and they should prove quite the draw. DP
