Ouseburn Collective - Y.I.D.I.Y

Ouseburn Collective is nominally Michael Cook, a fella who once plied his trade with the Scottish Polis Inspectors (who I seem to remember releasing the excellent ‘Gina McKee’ album). Anyway. Here Cook is mostly alone and in full-on noodle mode, with partly improvised compositions (mostly instrumental), that take rock and pop on many an interesting journey, from experimental doodlings that sound as though they should be sound-tracking Soviet era animations (‘Space Hoglets’) to pieces imbued with light and air (‘Acoustica’).
