Cameron Winter - Live at Carnegie Hall

Considering Geese’s Cameron Winter only had his breakout fairly recently, one could be forgiven for thinking that such a monumental stage as Carnegie Hall would swallow him and his piano up. But somehow, the stripped back nature of these recordings make his music feel more expansive than ever. The frank poetry of his lyrics, the distinctive drawl of his vocals, and the unbridled emotion that they betray – when given extra space to breathe and combined with the fluidity of a simple piano accompaniment – sees Winter moving through the journey of his songs more authentically. It’s a baring of the soul behind his music; deeply intimate yet incredibly potent. LT
