Silk Road - No Funeral
Newcastle’s Silk Road knock out the kind of skew-whiff sonics that feel like an itch being scratched. It’s urgent, herky-jerky, and manages to find a sweet spot somewhere between prog, post-punk, and the more wired bits of krautrock. It all makes for a potent brew – featuring a chunk of Talking Heads here, a smidgeon of PIL there – and I recommend that you drink deeply from it if you’d like your head to be messed with. I certainly did. DP
