London’s favourite instrumental party-starters expand their sonic universe with their latest album. Known for their dizzying blend of instrumental cumbia, surf rock, and psych-pop, the quartet invites an eclectic roster of collaborators to trade riffs and rhythms, transforming their signature groove into a global jam session. Standout tracks like ‘Holding Cell’ (featuring King Gizzard’s Ambrose Kenny-Smith) and ‘El Pençe’ (with Kit Sebastian) inject fresh lyrical and textural layers without sacrificing the band’s vibrant, cinematic charm. Bouncing effortlessly between retro psych-funk and infectious dance grooves, the record feels like a sun-drenched, midnight block party. JL
