The Crack Magazine

Isn’t that your nan?

She’s your nan, she’s my nan, she’s everyone’s nan. She’s Nanna Makina and she’s hitting Hartlepool this November with the kind of sounds that’ll blow your trousers off.

Makina originated in Spain but I think it’s safe to say that it’s developed a huge and dedicated subculture in the north-east (and, let’s face it, up in Scotland, too). Nanna Makina—of course, the cheeky, tracksuit-clad, alter ego of prominent north-east DJ and producer Schak—was a wow at this year’s Creamfields where her set, I think it’s also safe to say, officially went off. Also along for the ride on this special night in Hartlepool will be MC Lyric. What else? A good smattering of bounce and Italian stuff, too. Yep! And awesome lighting and a heavy but crisp sound to boot. Awesome!

The Underground Night Club: Nanna Makina, Friday 27 November, Hillcarter, Hartlepool, 7pm-3am, £15, skiddle.com
