These Southern California rockers took inspiration for their new album from the wildfires that tore through their home state recently (lead singer Bonnie Bloomgarden lost her home and beloved dog). That may make you think that ‘Welcome to Earth’ might be heavy going, but it’s actually a defiant and often joyful release, packed with psych rock that has a decidedly poppy edge, and the kind of chant-a-long choruses that will get mosh-pits yelling and bouncing along.
