Feeling SNIDE
September was a great month to be SNIDE. The Newcastle-based independent fashion brand saw a successful pop-up store opening here in the north-east, and were chosen by the British Fashion Council to participate in BFC Fashion Britain, a new nationwide programme which formed part of the wider Fashion Week. SNIDE was created to prove that the north-east can be a major hub for contemporary fashion labels with an edgy, arty feel. Its main fashion line features permanent, everyday seasonless staples from T-shirts and tote bags to caps, all of which are made in small batches to prevent waste. There’s also a couture line, featuring one-of-a-kind pieces featuring hand-drawn artwork from founder Louie Glen in collaboration with Charlotte Baptist. FR
