If they’re not yet national treasures, then Your Aunt Fanny are certainly local treasures—albeit treasures you’d keep hidden in the cellar when the vicar comes to tea. Their new show is ‘Crease’ and it’s coming to Stockton in early October (and Newcastle in late October).

Debauched? You may say that but I couldn’t possibly comment. Hilarious? I’ll definitely give you that one. Your Aunt Fanny comprises some of the funniest lasses you’ll find anywhere in the region, and their new show ‘Crease’ is an hour-long confection that we’re promised will feature some of their sharpest and smartest material yet. Among the sketches is a “true crime” themed hen-party (colour scheme: voyeurism violet). They’ll also be giving us a men’s club for those fellas ready to be allies, a disillusioned but enthusiastic scout leader, and a filthy step-neighbour who is starring in a porno bank heist (directed by seven women who’ve never actually got round to watching any porn). As ever, they’ll be filtering everything through an unapologetically feminine lens, but any message they may want to impart is never at the expense of those big belly laughs. If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of the Fannies, then ‘Crease’ should be the perfect jumping-in point. DP
