Bites, brews and castle views

The always brilliant Tynemouth Food Festival is coming to Tynemouth Priory and Castle this September. Tuck in!

I never need to be asked twice when it comes to jumping on the Metro to Tynemouth, particularly around the Priory and Castle area, so the Tynemouth Food Festival is always right at the top of my “must visit” list each year. Perched right on the coast, this favourite regional gathering brings together the north-east’s finest street food vendors, pop-up bars, and artisan market traders. Whether you're craving local craft drinks, savoury bites, or sweet treats, there’s plenty to sample while taking in the stunning backdrop. It’s an ideal day out for everyone, offering plenty of space to relax with friends and family alongside live music and entertainment. Kids are fully covered too, with cooking workshops from Fun Little Foodies, messy play with ARTventurers, family yoga with Shore Yoga, plus face painting and drop-in sports activities and recycling crafty fun. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: Tuck in! DP

Tynemouth Food Festival, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, 10am-5pm, £5 for adults, children aged 15 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
