The furious force of a nature that is the Molly Vulpyne Band is coming to Stockton this September to lob around some aural firecrackers.

What was supposed to be a strict “one-and-done” live experiment has rapidly snowballed into one of the most exciting, chaotic, and relentlessly authentic acts on the UK and Ireland alternative circuit. And this September Dublin-based songwriter Molly Vulpyne will bring her powerhouse full band to The Georgian Theatre to show just what they’re all about. Following the release of her stellar solo EP ‘Amortise’, Molly expanded her sonic palette by recruiting a formidable line-up of Irish punk royalty, featuring veterans from Paranoid Visions, the Steve Ignorant Band, and The Lee Harveys. What followed was a whirlwind with a critically acclaimed debut album under their belts, and a rapid-fire assault on major festival stages, including a packed-out Opera House performance at Rebellion Festival and high-profile support slots for the likes of CKY and The Vaselines. Musically, the Molly Vulpyne Band is a gripping exercise in beautiful friction. Drawing lazy but understandable comparisons to the poetic fury of Patti Smith, the dark edge of PJ Harvey, and the polished alt-rock crunch of Garbage, their actual sound entirely refuses to be neatly boxed in. It is equal parts sharp melody, raw political vulnerability, and unfiltered punk chaos, and I’m absolutely here for it. JL
