This young Sunderland four-piece are a thrilling proposition, particularly if you like punk that isn’t afraid to push envelopes. From the funked-up rhythms of ‘Period Pad/I’m Glad’ (absolutely my fave song about period poverty), to the soaring indie-rock of ‘Repeat the Defeat’ (shades of the Manics), to the reggae-tinged ‘Rude Boys of England’, this band are bursting with ideas—all of them good. They know the value of cutting loose too, and tracks such as ‘Dead End Kids’ have a runaway charabanc vibe that would ignite even the most moribund of mosh-pits. DP
