I love a good curio, and this is fab. Subtitled ‘The songs of Scott McCaughey performed by Funpark Fugitives’, it’s a ten-track tribute to, yep, Scott McCaughey—a talented chap who has worked with R.E.M. and also fronted up US alt-rock outfits such as The Young Fresh Fellows. Funpark Fugitives is the brainchild of Teessider Neil Anthony Patterson, and this homage to the great man is resplendent with everything from melodic folk-rock to garage rock that is warmly fuzzy around the edges.
