Charli xcx could’ve easily become a bit of a sellout and made a BRAT 2.0 - the masses probably would’ve eaten it up. Instead, she’s swapped nostalgic Y2K club beats for rock music. Music, Fashion, Film has a similar raw, messy energy to BRAT, but captured through a completely different lens. Moody vocals, distorted guitar riffs and laidback drum beats accompany the razor-sharp writing we’ve come to expect from Charli, covering themes such as fame, materialism, mortality and how her relationship with art - both as a creator and an appreciator - comes into play with all of this.
