Aanimals magic
Tim, John and Jeremy are The Aanimals, and the trio have decades of experience in music, theatre-making and teaching. From the outer reaches of jazz, folk and all manner of sonic nonsense, they take the art of silliness very seriously. They’re holding three 45-minute workshops over one Sunday in September that will let participants try out their instant songwriting skills and feel the freedom and joy of improvised music on a range of available instruments and noise-making devices. They’ll be celebrating everything from large and exotic mammals to microscopic bacteria, and also becoming inspired by the animals at Ouseburn Farm. These three sessions are ticketed but free, and are just one part of this year’s Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music. More on that, and these workshops, on the website, below.
