Is it a market or a party?

The Ouseburn Valley ‘Summer Street Party’ is, as the name kind of hints at, a party (but, hey, it’s also a market – and plenty more besides).

Oh, my! There is so much going on at the next Ouseburn Valley ‘Summer Street Party’ that I think I’m going to explode with joy. I never fail to grab a bargain at these events and the next iteration will feature the Lime Street Market, which will see 35 local sellers flogging their most delectable wares. But there will also be a BBQ, a whole heap of music, freebies galore, live art (hooray!), tarot (ooh!), exhibitions, caricatures, and—get this!— massage (massage!). What else? Well, we’re promised Flaura Rose (who is co-hosting the event) with “free shots, personalisation station with Sticka Studios, and Girl Power Music”. Also on the bill are artist Jim Edwards with “lucky dip and free sangria”, The Find with “faces of Ouseburn self-portrait pop-up”, club sounds from Deep North, St. Oswalds with a “vintage market featuring clothes, accessories, home stuff, books and more”, live DJ action outside Cluny 2, and a photography, sculpture and glass exhibition at 36 Lime Street. Gonna be good. DP

‘Summer Street Party’, Saturday 29 August, Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle, 10am-4pm, £2. Hosted by @thefindouseburn and @Flaura_Rose_Ouseburn
