As part of the government’s Summer Savings Scheme, VAT has been slashed for visitor attractions over the school holidays, so now you can get the same amount of dinosaur-sized fun at Life, but for even less cash.

The blockbuster show, ‘The Great Dinosaur Escape’ at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle, has certainly been pulling in plenty of punters since it opened and with little wonder. It features the north’s biggest collection of moving dinosaurs, including a towering 9-metre-long T.Rex. An action-packed experience, it’s one of those shows that transforms a family visit into an interactive mission as youngsters become a ‘Dino Ranger’ for the day, uncovering dino facts while solving a prehistoric challenge along the way. And ‘The Great Dinosaur Escape’ is included in the Science Centre ticket, so visitors get a whole day’s worth of creativity and exploration right across the complex including the Making Studios, live theatre shows, 360° full-dome immersive shows at the Planetarium, and hands-on exhibits. (Note: relaxed sessions are held on the second Sunday of the month between 10am-noon.)
