machiner - Motion Waves

The debut album from this Hartlepool three-piece is all kinds of stunning. They say their music sits at the intersection of “alternative rock, post-industrial electronica and dark wave”, which, yes, it does, but their tunes also have a quite glorious lyricism and a melodic know-how which is sweepingly cinematic in scope. The band also knows the value of imbuing their songs with a lusciousness – a la someone like The Moody Blues – that is utterly infectious. GM
