Swords, sandals, and 35mm
This summer’s blockbuster cinematic event is undoubtedly Christopher Nolan’s epic ‘The Odyssey’, but there are many who are missing out on the full-spectrum cinematic experience—the 35mm print. Because while almost all modern films are now screened digitally, it’s become increasingly rare to see a major new release projected from a 35mm print. Dan Lauder, Head of Cinema at Tyneside Cinema: “We’re blessed to be one of the few remaining venues in the country that still operates 35mm projectors, making us one of the destinations to see past and present films on film. A film projected in 35mm can provide an authenticity in its colour tones and texture that digital cinema can’t always replicate.” In short: make sure your epic quest this summer ends up at the Tyneside Cinema.
