This Winnipeg-based indie-pop/dream-pop duo has created a well-deserved buzz, and their debut album offers up all sorts of delights, not least Courtney Carmichael’s ethereal vocals. These sit atop a pleasing melange of shoegaze, slowcore and melodic indie sounds, all of which are given a bittersweet twist. Reference points include the likes of Alvvays, with nods to The 1975 and Slowdive, but the distinctive haze they manage to conjure is all their own. GM
