Everyone loves a Mixtape
I love the Mixtape: 80s parties in Newcastle more than I love Ben & Jerry’s Caramel Chew Chew (and let me tell you, I really love Ben & Jerry’s Caramel Chew Chew).
The 1980s can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people – certainly sonically. New wave acts such as Talking Heads and Blondie hit the charts. A new slew of British bands captured the hearts of Smash Hits readers including Duran Duran, Culture Club and Haircut 100, while synthpop bands such as The Human League rose to the fore. But the 1980s was also the decade that Italo disco and house started to make inroads into clubs and at this night Stephen Love will be on hand with some very cool edits of some classic tracks. Also on the bill: retro snacks and drinks promos.
