Pedagogy, you say…
Curated by Dr. Suzy O’Hara, ‘Hands On: Pedagogy, Practice, Research’ bridges the gap between academic theory, physical art-making, and creative practice research. Visitors will encounter a diverse array of medium-spanning works from across the university’s Fine Art ecosystem, bringing together the unique voices of academics, technical experts, and practice-based PhD researchers, and the featured artists include the likes of Lothar Goetz, Fiona Larkin, Paul Raymond, and Ralf Broeg, among many others. Developed in partnership with Landid as part of the £100 million riverside redevelopment project, this showcase highlights how Sunderland's art programmes foster strong links with prestigious external cultural partners. For anyone interested in the cutting edge of contemporary art and the vital mechanisms that shape the artists of tomorrow, this inspiring, free exhibition is not to be missed.
