Imagine owning this!

Yep! That is a unique, bespoke, Les Paul guitar, and the wonderful Curvy Sounds are raffling it for an incredible cause.

This jaw-dropping Les Paul guitar is being crafted by Curvy Sounds founder Andrew Mills. The design—based on natural patterns that can be found in the centre of a sunflower, or in the movement of shoals of fish—is made entirely of small ovals of iridescent pearl that bloom outward from the centre of the guitar. Currently a work in progress, the guitar is set be finished by Andrew this summer when it will be handed over to the lucky recipient of a winning lottery ticket. All proceeds will go to the Rothbury Estate Appeal, which has been launched by The Wildlife Trusts. Their aim is to buy the Rothbury Estate in order to protect this incredible bit of land with its forests, moorland and wildlife. If successful, a wildlife corridor of epic proportions will be created, stretching from Druridge Bay through to the Northumberland National Park and beyond. (Note: Over the summer, if you visit the area and feel moved to make some art or music, then get in touch with Jess Mills at Curvy Sounds – they might even put on an exhibition.)

Raffle tickets available from Curvy Sounds, Heaton, Newcastle. They’re also running a stall at Ouseburn Festival on 4 July, where you can also buy art works, plants and fair-trade instruments – all profits going to the Rothbury Appeal. Reach Jess Mills at curvysounds@yahoo.com. You can also donate to the appeal at:
