Chaos by design
I’ve been lucky enough to catch Ho99o9 live once before, and it was like stepping into a controlled explosion. In fact, I don’t think I’d be putting too many noses out of joint if I said that there’s not many acts around today that bridge the gap between “concert” and “cathartic ritual” as effectively as the New Jersey-born duo of theOGM [sic] and Yeti Bones. With their intoxicating melange of digital hardcore, trap, and thrash-punk, they’re one of those bands that arrow straight in on your solar plexus. I mean, one moment you are immersed in a dystopian, synth-heavy rave; the next, a live drummer – often the secret weapon of their stage show – kicks into a 200 BPM hardcore d-beat that transforms the room. Their latest material from the 2025 album ‘Tomorrow We Escape’ has added a new layer of raw, personal vulnerability to their “Death Kult” aesthetic, making high-octane tracks like ‘Target Practice’ land with even more emotional weight. You don’t just watch Ho99o9; you survive them, and you leave the venue feeling more alive than when you entered. GM
