The Black Keys have been spearheading the modern blues rock revival for a quarter of a century now, and yet Peaches! proves that they aren’t running out of steam anytime soon. The 10 tracks on this cover album, largely recorded live, seamlessly run into one another in a way that creates the sensation of listening in on a particularly explosive jam session. The musical chemistry between members Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney is palpable - they don’t let the energy drop for a second as they bounce between tempos and raw, rough-around-the-edges grooves. While perhaps lacking in stand out singles, its cohesiveness makes for a delightful start-to-finish listen. LT
