Grape expectations

Whether you enjoy the finest wines available to humanity, or you seek-out those under six quid bottles at your local offie, Hannah Walker’s “Savvy B” show is, laughter wise at least, 100% proof.

This raucous and deeply relatable one-woman show dives headfirst into the messy intersection of identity, alcohol, and the quest to “sparkle”. At the heart of the performance is Sauvignon Blanc – or rather, “Savvy B” the alter ego Walker once embraced as her most untouchable, unstoppable self. Over a decade later, Walker revisits this character to ask a pointed question: who do we actually become when we’ve had one too many? Through a sharp blend of stand-up, film, and autobiography, the show explores the thin line between self-image and self-medication with brutal honesty and infectious wit. Expect a night of “live drinking” and high-octane public shaming as Walker pulls apart her own selective memory. A particular highlight is the promised re-release of a single she recorded at sixteen – a song she genuinely believed was a masterpiece at the time, but which now serves as the ultimate “cringe” artifact. If you’ve ever woken up with a “wine-xiety” hangover or a questionable text history, this is the show that will make you feel seen, shamed, and thoroughly entertained. GM
