There are many things to be irked about in the world at the minute and thankfully this Newcastle-based garage-punk band are meeting those things full-on via a real blast of female-fronted spikiness that thrills and exhilarates in equal measure. Hitting a sweet spot somewhere between Amyl and the Sniffers, X-Ray Spex and Panic Shack, this is uncompromising but undeniably rip-roaring stuff, and as debut albums go this one is a real statement of intent – a statement fitted with rocket boosters.
