This all-female four-piece from Glasgow have built up a bit of a buzz in their hometown and their debut album (produced by Stuart MacLeod) sees them ploughing an unashamedly guitar pop furrow. Their press release states: “Imagine the Tom Tom Club jamming with Chrissie Hynde”, but that’s wide of the mark as these songs don’t push too many envelopes. But while not reinventing the wheel, the band do display a keen ear for a lovely melody, and sometimes a lovely melody is enough. DP
