Angine de Poitrine - Vol.II

Social media virality certainly doesn’t equate musical talent, but this time the internet made the right people famous. Angine de Poitrine’s sound is a maximalist assault of polyrhythms, seamless layers of loops and microtonal melodies, courtesy of a double-necked guitar made up of the notes-between notes. Instrumental and experimental math-rock is surely the antithesis to what should be trending, but the reason they get away with their rule-breaking is because their music is groovy to a mesmerising degree and just so much fun. And then, when you think it can’t get any better, you learn that the members are two otherworldly, polka-dotted beings that speak in tongues. Brain chemistry-altering stuff. LT
