As the weather gets warmer, Durham Pride is nearly upon us with a full 12-hours’ worth of fun, frivolity and frolics.

Durham Pride seems to get bigger and better every single year, and 2026 is no different with promises of delicious street food, brilliant theatre from the students of Durham University, market stalls featuring information and goodies, and a super-charged line-up on the main stage. This year it’s headlined by Steps superstar Claire Richards (pictured), and she’ll be joined by heartthrob Gareth Gates, S Club 7’s Bradley McIntosh, and plenty of other British icons. Tess Tickle and her Dragettes will also be there to pump up the energy and keep the party going at full tilt, and a fantastic array of local DJs will be getting everyone ready for the afterparties in the evening. For those wanting to take part in the march, the route starts at the gorgeous Durham Cathedral at 11am. MW
