Life comes at you fast

Dinosaurs have officially stomped their way into the Life Science Centre (and some of the pesky critters have escaped). Talk about Jurassic larks!

This show represents the ultimate prehistoric takeover, featuring the largest collection of life-size animatronic dinosaurs in the north of England. Yep! They live! Making its grand UK debut, The Great Dinosaur Escape brings more than 20 massive, moving creatures to the heart of Newcastle. Developed by maestros Dinosaurious Mexico, the exhibition is headlined by a terrifyingly realistic, 9-metre-long Tyrannosaurus Rex, a creature whose extravagant gnashers are guaranteed to make your heart skip a beat. But while most of these titans are housed in a massive 350 sq. metre enclosure, a few of the more – let’s call them rebellious – creatures have managed to escape. Visitors are invited to follow a specially designed trail throughout the centre to help track them down. You’ll also learn how these giants lived, ate, and eventually met their demise during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. And beyond the animatronics, why not enjoy the live dinosaur-themed shows, experiment in the labs, and get creative with making activities. JL
