Up-and-coming Chicago dreampop quintet, Snowcuffs, create a lush and textured soundscape on their debut EP

‘Sweet Gravity’. The melodic, gentle vocals of frontwoman Stephanie Nikolas provide calm amongst the chaos of duelling, distorted guitars and powerful, swaggering percussion. The production has a hazy, nostalgic quality to it, which contrasts beautifully with the harsh fuzz of the guitars and equips the band with a sonic light and shade that effectively communicates the lyrical themes of longing, reflection and fleeting beauty.
