I adore the landscapes of Hester Berry and you can see her new show ‘Where The Light Falls’ at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle.

I love this painting that is pictured (entitled ‘Lynton, New Year’s Eve’). That mark making is so divine and redolent of a winter’s walk on a nice day (a nice day for winter, at least). ‘Where The Light Falls’ is Hester Berry’s new collection of expressive landscape oil paintings, rooted in reverence and close observation of the rural environments she knows best. At its heart, the exhibition is both a celebration of the natural world and a gentle reminder to cherish and protect it – an invitation to slow down and notice the changing seasons and subtle shifts of light.
