Feeling wolfish?
First thing up: Vukovi are actually from Scotland (North Ayrshire, fact fans) and consist of Janine Shilstone on vocals and Hamish Reilly on guitar. The next thing you need to know is the awesome sound they make is a real thrill ride, mixing up alt-rock, pop-punk and noise-pop to grandiose effect (with sprinklings of metalcore to give them just that extra slice of oomph). And by blending heavy, intricate guitar riffs with immensely catchy, melodic choruses, they manage to pull off that rare trick of being both musically complex but immediately accessible. And Shilstone certainly knows how to pen an intensely personal and powerful lyric that certainly fits their sound, and she’s not afraid to tackle heavy themes such as mental health, trauma and anxiety. The pair are also known for their electric lives shows with Shilstone giving it everything as the frontwoman with everything. Flamboyant and commanding her boundless energy invariably ignites mosh-pits like few others can. The wolves are at the door. Let ‘em in! DP
