Afternoon delight

There’s an afternoon of indie coming to TheCUT in Newcastle going by the very cool name of An Afternoon of Indie.

The last Afternoon of Indie sold out at TheCUT back in October and I reckon there will be plenty of people clamouring for the tickets for their first event of 2026. It’s for over 30s only and will see Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine joining up to spin you only the finest in old school indie. I’m talking Blondie, Joy Division, Primal Scream, Rolling Stones, Hole, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cardigans, The Beatles, The Specials, Nirvana, Ash, New Order, and, well, you get the picture. It’ll be a decade’s spanning knees-up that’ll take in 60s beat, 70s punk, 80s new wave, 90s britpop, and whatever indie was called in the 00s.

An Afternoon of Indie, Saturday 17 January, The CUT, Newcastle, 3pm-7pm, £9, skiddle.com
