Ashnikko is back with her maximalist take on pop, and if you’re looking for a pure adrenaline shot in musical form, this one’s for you. Relentless, pounding beats and y2k electronic soundscapes dominate across 15 tracks that very much toe the line between sexy and grotesque in the best kind of way. With lyrics like “I shared my hairy toes for you // I’m a hobbit”, Ashnikko clearly isn’t interested in making herself palatable, and it’s this loud, unbridled persona that makes her music such a euphoric experience. It’s impossible not to have a blast while listening to this album. LT
