Apocalypse WOW!
I’ve slapped this gig with a big WOW, because Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse – with their genre-bending sound – are a big WOW whichever way you look at it. And yes, while their roots are firmly planted in the blues, they seamlessly incorporate elements of swampy funk and soulful rock into their sound, even adding a touch of psychedelic flair into their eclectic mix. And live they have rightfully earned their reputation as a powerhouse band with the unmistakable presence of vocalist Greta Valenti a major draw. Her voice is a force of nature—at times a soulful croon, at others a raw, bluesy wail that commands attention. She effortlessly navigates a vast emotional landscape, making every song a deeply personal and engaging experience. Guitarist Robin Davey is a virtuoso in his own right, weaving intricate, fiery solos that are both technically impressive and brimming with feeling. His style is a perfect complement to Valenti's vocals, creating a dynamic interplay that forms the backbone of their sound. Jump to it. GM
