Goddesses on top

Myths, X-rated stories, spells and songs for adults only are revealed in ‘The Mighty Goddess’, which is coming to Newcastle in early December.

Sally Pomme Clayton is a truly gifted storyteller who brings stories from the past to life while injecting them the right amount of wonder and humour. And in ‘The Mighty Goddess’ she evokes goddesses from across the globe. Her hilarious, mysterious and powerful stories see her entwining myths with memories, spells with songs, comedy with ceremony. She brings ancient myths to contemporary life with dynamic spoken-word, strange musical sounds, gesture and ritual. From Vesta (the fiery virgin) to Ishtar (Goddess of Love and War who journeys to the Land of the Dead) you’ll encounter some of the mightiest goddesses to ever transcend the Earth.

The Mighty Goddess, Thursday 4 December, Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle, 7.30pm, £10 (conc. £5 + No Questions Asked ticket £3), alphabettitheatre.co.uk
