If so, then you’ve hit the nail on the head because the husband and wife duo Will Finn and Rosie Calvert are the award-winning pair who have taken folk music into some of the most interesting places imaginable. Using piano, steel pan and ukulele, and combining influences ranging from old English ballads to gothic Americana, their musical chemistry and virtuosity is truly transformative. But perhaps their greatest gift is those aforementioned harmonies, which really fill a room with joy. And their gig in Newcastle is sure to be special as it’s something of a homecoming.
